Living From the Heart Space..what does THAT mean?

This is my new mission. To live from my heart space INSTEAD of my head space.

What does this mean? I have called in the big guns here. Gabrielle Bernstein, author of The Spirit Junkie and May Cause Miracles is going to crack open this concept in a vlog (a video log for those who are still learning the techo lingo)!! I sent a wee tweet to Gabby (I can call her Gabby since she responded to my tweet heheee), posing this question "How would you describe what it feels like to lead with your heart instead of your head"? Oh and when she does her vlog, I will shout it out. xx

In the meantime, I settled in to the 'call' from our Personal Development Book Club book title by gorgeous Martha Beck, "Finding Your Way in a Wild New World" and magically and synchronistically I read this:

"In his autobiography the psychologist Carl Jung, one of the great way finders of inner life, described a conversation he has with a Native American chief named Mountain Lake, whom he regarded as a kindred spirit. "I was able to talk with him as I have rarely been able to talk with a European," Jung recalled. Perhaps because of their mutual respect, Mountain Lake gave Jung a very frank account of the way his people say Europeans, the flip side of the white men's "natives are slow and stupid" story.

"Their eyes have a staring expression, the chief said. "They are always seeking something. What are they seeking? The Whites always want something. They are always uneasy and restless. We do not know what they want. We do not understand them. We think they are all mad". Jung asked Chief Mountain Lake to elaborate: Why, exactly, did white people see in so insane to the Indians?
"They say they think with their heads", responded Mountain Lake.
"Why of course", said Jung. "What do you think with?"
"We think here", said Chief Mountain Lake, and he pointed to his HEART.

Thinking with the heart. This is a repeated theme for me lately. Several of my teachers have spoken to me about taking directional cues from the physical and emotional experiences and not be so busy talking because that is when I miss it. (Enter yoga and meditation practice).

When we are asked "what do you think about this....?", we respond with all the verbal thoughts to fill the space. I do this, and I do it pretty well. My practice is now to ask, "What do I feel when....?" When we are honest and seek our feelings, the feelings that may take us from our comfortable, normal, appropriate responses, we are being lead through our life to where our inner guide/divine/inner knowing/pilot-light/soul would have us go. I understand this process to be best summed up as 'letting go' or as Panache eloquently puts it "....to let go of the reins, to let go of what you think you know so that the Divine can show you something greater ♥".

It seems that we have been mislead. It seems that the power isn't actually in the 'seeking the answer from the mind' but 'seeking the answer from the heart'. Breath in, breath out.

How do you feel about what you have read?

Speak kindly to yourself
