Here is to accountabiltity! Help keep me on track!

As another year clicks over, I feel really alive and motivated to implement some of the goals I have planned for this year.

I have this funny buzzy feeling in my tummy. Some of that is slight overwhelm as to how I am in fact going to be able to achieve everything I have set out to do. Along the way I am sure there is going to be all the usual sabotage suspects, but I have a real awareness now. So look out!

It seems to me a waste of all my health knowledge if I am not actually applying any of it. I have resisted shaking up my own diet for a number of reasons, but I am done with the excuses. Time to shift. Time to reclaim or maybe even claim for the first time my optimal health. I am striving for more energy, more vibrant moments, more sleep, more exercise, more fruit and veg, more water. Mostly, just more self care. I have some pretty profound ways of doing this! Sit up, take note because this is ground breaking stuff. Slightest hint of sarcasm!

1) Be conscious of the feeling in my body. Ask the questions "Is this physical hunger or is it some emotional hunger? Is this boredom? Is this anxiety? Is this frustration? Geneen Roth covers a lot of this in her book "Women, Food, God".

2) Get a plan. Action it. Evaluate it. Improve it. I am using a few key concepts I have picked up along my journey. Louise Hay applies - if you can grow it, I can eat it. I like that, and will be applying that 80% of the time. It is said by approximately 100334732 authors, eat less than you expend and voila! I'll be applying that too. Dr Oz recommends 2 out of your 3 main meals are pretty consistently the same. That way you don't get overwhelmed with choice and just chuck it all out the window and go for the easiest thing. So, I am working on that too.

3) Go to bed instead of watching brain dead blah on TV, or wasting time playing scrabble on the computer - note to self...cancel some of my games to free up some of my obligation to make the next move.

4) Get up a whole 1 hour earlier and commit that to myself. I will plan to either do my yoga, walk, run, swim, read, meditate, study or write. It will be my time. I will put together a routine that it achievable, and like everything evolves over time.

Many more to come..........
