Thankyou Martha Beck. Thank you youtube.
Over twelve months ago now, I put together a vision board or an inspiration board probably more accurately termed. Anyway, on this inspiration board I have many pictures of butterflies. After they were arranged and plonked on the board I remember thinking "why have you got so many butterflies?". Today, I had a lightbulb moment after listening to a talk by Marth Beck ~ life coach.
Martha was talking about caterpillars and butterflies and how the transition occurs. Caterpillars grow and eat and grow and eat. Then after a period of growing in one way, then they decide to change. So they spin a cocoon made of their own saliva which is transformed to silk and go inside. Now, it isn't a place where they just sit and get a slender waist and sprout wings. It is a process. The first part of the process is shedding their skin and then they disolve into a liquid. If you were to cut open the cryselis you would find a puddle of liquid. BUT it is alive.
There are cells in it called 'imago' cells, (latin for image) with the image of the butterfly in them and they reconstruct every cell, every one of them in to a butterfly. What a miraculous process.
Martha belives this happens more than once for us as humans. Which makes sence given we are far more complicated. We get educated, get a job, have kids etc ~ this is all just us getting bigger, like the caterpillar. BUT then something happens when we go inside our cocoon and dissolve. What we dissolve is our identity. For example, making the transition from identifying as a child, to identifying as an adolescent to identifying as an adult. From single to married, from partner to parent. All changes in identity.
After viewing this piece by Martha, I got my connection with butterflys. My subconscious connection with them. I am constantly going inside and dissolving. Each time release the cocoon and fly, each time with bigger wings, and flying higher!
