Confession time! The light is on it....

Confession time: This time reading Finding YOur Way in a Wild New World has not been effortless, as it was the first time.

At our last book club meeting, I had some more resonance with my inner knowing. I felt really connected with the words and their meanings. AND yet since stepping away from the meeting, I have been resisting the call from the book. In the last couple of days I have been observing what happens to me when I consider picking up the book. What it is that I say to myself..

What I have found, is it isn't the book I am resisting, but what I KNOW the book calls on me to do. It calls on me TO DO..not just read and say "oh well, isn't that interesting"...it actually calls on me TO DO! It is a call to ACTION (deep breath)...what I noticed when I became aware of this, is this. In ACTION there is risk of 'getting it wrong' or 'failing'. Risk of having to make a new story. To let go of old limiting beliefs.

This awareness matches the insight I received on the weekend when I went along with Jay to have a play with Life Coach Sue Lamond, who uses the intuition of horses to bring deeper awareness to our limiting behaviour. What came to the surface for me, and reiterated with my resistance to the book title is this.

*Raises hand* My name is Jen Lean and I have a fear of getting it wrong! I am afraid if I get it wrong I fail and thus lose credibility. I know...some will read this and go 'well duh'..that is a no brainer..an easy limiting belief to zero in on...well, timing for me is everything!!

So, the light is now on it. I trust myself now to deal with this...and as a result, I am super keen to pick up the book again and get into ACTION! Because this is what my inner knowing feels to be true.."If I try, I make mistakes. If I learn from my mistakes it is 'tuition' (thank you Dr Phil). ACTION implies you are willing to fall over, mess up and down right fail! Getting in the arena is scary. I must be willing to be judged harshly. Willing to get it wrong. Willing to play. Willing to lose people in my life. Willing to GAIN so much! It is just being down right willing...not attaching to the outcome, but just having a crack!

So my dears, this is my truth with this book title...and now I have come clean I am ready to get back in the game! Breath in, breath out...ACTION!

R.E.S.O.N.A.T.E. Have you ever....?

res.o.nate:

Verb
Produce or be filled with a deep, full, reverberating sound.
Evoke or suggest images, memories, and emotions.

Have you ever had this experience? You know that one when someone says something and your body, mind or whatever it is goes "ah ha, YES. YES...how did you know?" You r mouth is dropped open and you feel like they have read your mind? You been there? It is the place when your soul or inner knowing hears the TRUTH, its TRUTH.

I have had A LOT of resonating experiences in the last few years. Some of the reason for that is I constantly assume an open position in front of teachers. As is the fact that I seek out teachers and trust that they have information for me to support my development. From this space, as often as I have the res.o.nate, I also have had the "uh uh...no you did not" moments as well. BUT it has taken me a good while to be able to say "NO...that is NOT for me!". Mostly because I put them on the 'all knowing' pedestal...all knowing for them perhaps!

See, when you assume the open position, your mind is available for the influence of other peoples projections and opinions. In my experience, when I am in this head space, my filter is less likely to hit my intuition space. In the past, in my open space, I will take in and not respond when my inner knowing says "no way baby, this is not you at all". Why have I done this?

I have come to understand that there is a part of me that doesn't actually trust my inner knowing. I give my power to those I 'perceive' as more spiritual, more knowing, more experienced etc to decide what is true for me. ARE YOU KIDDING? How on earth can ANYONE know what is best for another person? Well...maybe Dr Phil? Yeah, okay...so some may or may not be able to make this call. BUT, even Dr Phil can say some things, no okay...he hasn't to date in my opinion...but he COULD say something that may NOT res.o.nate with me - as can anyone! In order to know this, I HAVE to pay attention to how I feel when the information is delivered.

I am getting soooooo good at saying "no...feels not right"...and it takes practice AND I am still finding situations where I say "shit, I didn't listen"...

When was the last time you were in this open space, awaiting and 'answer' and one arrived you went "ah YES"?

When was the last time you were given some information to consider by someone you consider a great teacher and your inner knowing went "uh no...I reckon you are off the mark there"...but didn't stand up and say something? For me, it happened recently AND boy did I learn something! What did I learn? My job is to pay attention to my inner knowing and always go with that, for better or for worse. My inner knowing as yours is, is super amazingly on to it...we just need to trust it...for better for for worse. This for me is truth.

From now on, no res.o.nate, no pass go, no collect $200 (should be more now with inflation and all that jazz)...

Will you commit to the re.o.nate movement with me? Shout it back to me if you do!

All in favour say "I"

On Being a Spiritual Snob

In todays Q & A Tuesday, Marie Forleo hits on what happens when we start to make conscious changes for our lives. I SO SO SO could relate to this! Check it out below...

http://www.marieforleo.com/2011/05/people-holding/

It isn't unlike anything we love to do. For the runners among us (ahem..not I said the fly), you can't believe that people don't like to run. "Like, come on people...it's amazingly awesome to run 20kms in 2hrs"! Yes it is FOR YOU...for me, it will take me 15 minutes to drive it. We like different things! Or the wine drinker who can't believe someone may like a young shiraz with grapes grown in the desert (ok extreme example for the wine drinkers). I like what I like, and am not too interested in the back story..other than maybe if it is organic or not. Or the personal development junkie (*hand raised*) who can't understand how people don't want to improve their lives with self awareness (*hand raised again*).

I SO GET how at times I can come off as ultra aggressive and over bearing with my passion and beliefs and I am certainly learning to keep in my own business. I don't however make apologies for who I am, in all it's growth. AND neither should you! BUT all of us would benefit doing it with love and without the finger pointing (*finger at me*)...no defensiveness just acceptance that there are different strokes for different folks!

So, if we feel defensive of the way that we live, then it is possible we may not be clear and comfortable with how we feel about our choices. What was the movie with the line "I choose my choice"? Well, thats what we need to get cool with..to be ok with choosing our own choices and letting others choose theirs. Marie also talks about leading by example. THE BEST WAY ALWAYS is to lead people by going where you expect them to go! BIG BLESSON here for me.

In the next blog, we can explore when other people's choices impact on our choices...mmmmm, that will be tasty!

Feel free to let me know your experiences.
Oh, and if anything resonates with you...please share around and follow along with me.

Living From the Heart Space..what does THAT mean?

This is my new mission. To live from my heart space INSTEAD of my head space.

What does this mean? I have called in the big guns here. Gabrielle Bernstein, author of The Spirit Junkie and May Cause Miracles is going to crack open this concept in a vlog (a video log for those who are still learning the techo lingo)!! I sent a wee tweet to Gabby (I can call her Gabby since she responded to my tweet heheee), posing this question "How would you describe what it feels like to lead with your heart instead of your head"? Oh and when she does her vlog, I will shout it out. xx

In the meantime, I settled in to the 'call' from our Personal Development Book Club book title by gorgeous Martha Beck, "Finding Your Way in a Wild New World" and magically and synchronistically I read this:

"In his autobiography the psychologist Carl Jung, one of the great way finders of inner life, described a conversation he has with a Native American chief named Mountain Lake, whom he regarded as a kindred spirit. "I was able to talk with him as I have rarely been able to talk with a European," Jung recalled. Perhaps because of their mutual respect, Mountain Lake gave Jung a very frank account of the way his people say Europeans, the flip side of the white men's "natives are slow and stupid" story.

"Their eyes have a staring expression, the chief said. "They are always seeking something. What are they seeking? The Whites always want something. They are always uneasy and restless. We do not know what they want. We do not understand them. We think they are all mad". Jung asked Chief Mountain Lake to elaborate: Why, exactly, did white people see in so insane to the Indians?
"They say they think with their heads", responded Mountain Lake.
"Why of course", said Jung. "What do you think with?"
"We think here", said Chief Mountain Lake, and he pointed to his HEART.

Thinking with the heart. This is a repeated theme for me lately. Several of my teachers have spoken to me about taking directional cues from the physical and emotional experiences and not be so busy talking because that is when I miss it. (Enter yoga and meditation practice).

When we are asked "what do you think about this....?", we respond with all the verbal thoughts to fill the space. I do this, and I do it pretty well. My practice is now to ask, "What do I feel when....?" When we are honest and seek our feelings, the feelings that may take us from our comfortable, normal, appropriate responses, we are being lead through our life to where our inner guide/divine/inner knowing/pilot-light/soul would have us go. I understand this process to be best summed up as 'letting go' or as Panache eloquently puts it "....to let go of the reins, to let go of what you think you know so that the Divine can show you something greater ♥".

It seems that we have been mislead. It seems that the power isn't actually in the 'seeking the answer from the mind' but 'seeking the answer from the heart'. Breath in, breath out.

How do you feel about what you have read?

Life is a Mirror

When we understand that we are not BROKEN, then we approach our life with no intention to 'fix' anything. Imagine for a moment, that everything is as it is supposed to be. All of it designed to help us remember our true self.

From this perspective we are able to accept others as not BROKEN.

Life is a mirror. What we are is what we see.

What Could I Spend the REST of My Life Talking About?

If you had have asked me this 4 years ago, I probably would have responded with "I'll tell you what I DON'T want to be talking about". So, in simple terms, back then...I didn't know!

Now I think I can ultimately it is as simple as having AUTHENTIC CONNECTION CONVERSATIONS. Out of our heads, and into our hearts!

How did I come to know this? I think this sums it up best:

"The great breakthroughs in our lives generally happen only as a result of the accumulation of innumerable small steps and minor achievements. We are called to reach out to someone, to pick up a book on the library shelf, to sign up for a class even though we're convinced we don't have the time or money, to go to our desks each day, to turn left instead of right. THESE are fire drills for our bigger calls" (Gregg Levoy).

What else could I talk about for the rest of my life?

I could spend the rest of my life talking about the journey of creation. Of creating the EXPERIENCE that EACH of us wants to have and to do that we need to REMEMBER our most divine selves! Exploring our beautiful, unique, brilliant selves! By doing this it shifts the generational patterns that we have inherited and propels us further into the absolute endless POSSIBILITIES that are available. That we do not need to respond to the world, but to proactively move through it and play!

What else?

DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO!

What else?

The most EXCITING thing for me to experience is those 'wow' moments of clarity. Those synchronistic encounters and conversations.

What else?

Exploring the possibility there is ANOTHER way.

What else?

Challenging the belief that because the generations who went before us did it THAT way, that maybe there is a way to improve on that way!

Ultimately, when we own our own greatness..the impact is immeasurable!

Have you owned your own greatness?

What is your BIGGEST and BEST-EST?

The BIGGEST, BEST-EST learning I have received this week:

I share this life experience with some of the most AMAZING people! Seriously! I am SO blessed to have some of the worlds MOST amazing people in my life. People who are willing to expand, even through the discomfort.

People willing to say "I don't know, but I am going to do everything I can to find out!" People who are willing to acknowledge that it is POSSIBLE that the reason their life isn't "great" may have something to do with what THEY are doing.

I mean seriously, these are the amazing people I get to share myself with. People who genuinely want to connect.

What is most AMAZING to me though, is that I GET TO CHOOSE who I share my journey with! I LOVE that.

I get to choose my experience. ALWAYS. I get to create this life. ALWAYS. Things may happen I am not expecting, but I get to CHOOSE how I respond. ALWAYS!

SO this is a day of HUGE gratitude to and for the AMAZING people I have in my life. Super blessed, SUPER cool.
